The IVR simply moves from one room to another. Its surfaces are compatible with antimicrobial detergents. It carries its remote controls, its instruction manual, its BluRay discs, its coiled power cable.
To provide soothing and personalized support to bed-ridden or semi-recumbent patients, by offering them a relaxing visual immersion through a "virtual window" above them.
A video projection system, integrated into a mobile box, projects films of landscapes or quiet scenes of daily life "as if you were there" onto the ceiling of the room in very large dimensions.
The available films are designed for IVR. They reproduce the impression of contemplating scenes of nature. They can also make it possible to travel, find memories, visit dream places. Personal photos sent by a loved one can also be proposed in large format projection to the patient.
The projection unit is connected with a single socket. The projector's 5000 lumen light output allows daylight projection without obscuring the windows. Plug it in, turn it on, watch it!
The PANASONIC video projector embedded in the IVR projection unit is professional quality. It offers a 2.5 metre base image in full HD quality (1920x1080).
The results exceed our expectations: we notice a better participation of the people during the toilets (freed from their anguish, they become available to participate in the gestures of washing).
The caregivers have a hard time remembering the use advice you gave them: wait for the red light before disconnecting the device, but they are very satisfied with the effect of the IVR on the residents. The residents really appreciate it!
By setting up the device at night, patients de-stress when they are agitated. They de-stress when they watch the movie... it allows them to travel without leaving the room.
When they propose things like that, it's beautiful images, it's comfort.../...I know I'm going to have my chemo, I know I'm going to fight cancer, and there, I think it's a moment just for me and this, is the icing on the cake...
The effect we've seen so far, it's still observation, is a reduction in anxiety. Also in terms of pain, we could see that sometimes after the IVR or even during the projection, patients were less painful. And for us psychologists, it can give us material - memories, affects, their life stories - and free that word a little.
